Victor Osimhen is keen on parting ways with Napoli after declining yet another contract extension offer from the club.
This revelation comes from renowned European football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who emphasized Osimhen’s firm stance on leaving the Italian club.
Osimhen has become a hot commodity in the transfer market, with English Premier League powerhouses Chelsea and Arsenal emerging as frontrunners in the pursuit of the talented forward.
Despite Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis repeatedly asserting that the forward would not be sold this summer, Osimhen is now going into the final year on his contract.
The current contract standoff poses a risk for Napoli, as Osimhen’s existing agreement with the Partenopei is set to expire in 2025.
“For Victor Osimhen, it’s essential to clarify, as I’ve consistently mentioned since September, there’s no agreement between Napoli and Osimhen for a new contract,” Fabrizio Romano, said while speaking on the Kick streaming platform.
“He’s only contracted until June 2025, and my sources are quite clear – Osimhen isn’t inclined to sign a new deal at Napoli. That’s the current status as of today. Football is unpredictable, but the current stance appears firm – Osimhen won’t be renewing there.”
Osimhen recently returned to full fitness after being sidelined with injury for six weeks.
