I don’t watch Super Eagles — Enyeama

Vincent Enyeama has opened up about the rumored strained relationship with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that led to his sudden departure from the national team.

The former Super Eagles goalkeeper lamented that he felt mistreated by the Football body as nothing more than a “piece of used material.”

Enyeama’s revelation comes as a significant development, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his unexpected exit from the national team.

When asked whether he believes his departure played a role in the decline of the Super Eagles goalkeeping department, the AFCON and CAF Champions League winner’s response added an intriguing layer to the ongoing narrative surrounding Nigerian football.

“Sincerely, I’ve not been following Nigerian football right from the day I left [resigned from the national team]. And with due respect, I was treated like a piece of used material,” he recounts.

“So I put up a block between me and the national team. It’s now that I’m beginning to follow what is going on. But I really put a stop to watching football, the national team.

“I was deeply hurt. But now I’ve moved. I can’t really say much about the national team and the goalkeeping because I’m not watching them.”

Enyeama won the Africa Cup of Nations glory in 2013 and left in October 2015.

The former Lille and Enyimba first choice Goalkeeper fell out with then Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh and was replaced with Carl Ikeme.
