The standard to represent the Super Eagles remains highest — Peseiro

Head coach Jose Peseiro is seeking improvement from the Super Eagles after mixed performance against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria had a mixed result in their recent friendlies, drawing against Saudi Arabia and winning against Mozambique.

Both game were littered with individual errors and Peseiro has warned his players, saying they must give their maximum to remain in the team.

The Portuguese in a post on his X account on Tuesday stated that he has identified area where needs improvement.

After another period of training and matches, with the team and staff united, we have reinforced various aspects and identified mistakes to be corrected.

The standard for anyone representing the Super Eagles must always be the highest.

“The players’ effort was excellent and as a consequence we achieved the victory in a friendly game for the first time in almost 5 years.”

The three time African Champions will converge again later in November for FIFA 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The team will take on Lesotho in Uyo and Zimbabwe in Harare.
