Cooper Reveals plan to get Awoniyi Back

Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper is backing Taiwo Awoniyi to rediscover his form when he returns from injury.

Awoniyi is currently down with a groin injury and will be out for at least four weeks.

The 26-year-old’s absence is a big blow to Nottingham Forest’s squad, but Cooper believes the Nigerian would produced extraordinary performance when he returns.

“Of course, it is a blow, he’s [Awoniyi] been our man up front,” Cooper was quoted Nottingham Post.

“He’s out for a month. He did it in the game against Brentford. He’s been injured before and came back really strong, so he knows he can do it. He’ll commit to that.”

Steve Cooper also revealed plans to get the striker back to full fitness.

“We’ll get T into recovery and rehab as quick as we can. We’ll give every help we can give him, because we know his attitude will be great as he tries to get back with us as soon as possible.”

The striker started the campaign on a positive note, scoring three times and provided two assists in five games before his drought.
