Former Enyimba forward, Mfon Udoh has accused Nigerian coaches in the top league division, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), of sharp practices and graft before fielding players.
Allegations of financial misconduct and corruption in NPFL have been a long-standing issue.
Udoh’s allegation comes months after the club chairman agreed league title has been won by highest bidder in recent years.
“Most Nigerian coaches do collect money from players, I just don’t want to call names, but there are many of them in the league.
“They feel they are helping the players, even management don’t release copy of contract to players easily.”
“They are saying they’re helping players to get contracts, you will see different copies and when you ask for your copy, they will say its with NFF that they will send it back to you.”
Udoh spent most of career with Enyimba and his home town club, Akwa United.
“My first season with Enyimba in 2014 was the best in my career in the NPFL. Everything worked for me despite not being the main striker for Enyimba,” he said.
