Rivers United are through to the group stage of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The Pride of Rivers, Sunday, defeated Etoile Filante 2-0 in the second leg of the final preliminary round to advance to the group stages of the competition.
A late brace from Alex Oyowah is all that Stanley Eguma’s side needed to win the game at Adokiye Amesieamaka Stadium.
The forward broke the deadlock in the 89th minutes, and completed his brace in the final minute of added time.
Sunday’s result sees the former NPFL champions become Nigeria’s only representative in competition following the exit of Bendel Insurance at the hands of RS Berkane.
