Super Eagles boss Jose Peseiro expressed happiness about Victor Osimhen staying in Europe despite a significant offer from Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese stated that Osimhen’s decision to continue playing in a competitive European league rather than moving to Saudi Arabia for a potentially lucrative contract is right.

Victor Osimhen was serious transfer target for Al Hilal following his impeccable form for Napoli last season.

Al Hilal reportedly offered him a bumper deal that would have made him one of the top earners in the world of football.

Despite having less than two years on his deal with Napoli, the Nigerian rejected the offer to continue in Europe.

“I understand that in the face of certain offers one can waver, two seasons in Arabia are worth more than 10 in Europe but money is not everything. Victor has improved a lot in Italy,” Peseiro told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“And I’m happy to see him still competing for big goals in Europe. He is happy in Napoli.

“For his growth path, staying in Europe and showing off in the Champions League remains the best way. He is young and has time to prove his talent.”
