Bendel Insurance F.C. were held to a 2-2 draw by RS Berkane in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second round match.

The game took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, on Saturday.

Insurance took the lead in the 28th minute, thanks to a goal by Imade Osarenkhoe.

He capitalized on a goalkeeper mistake, who failed to hold onto Benjamin Tanimu’s shot.

However, the former Confederation Cup champions fought back and equalized in the 38th minute through Hamza El Moussaoui.

In the second half, Insurance regained the lead in the 65th minute when Vincent Augustus found the back of the net.​

But RS Berkane showed resilience and managed to level the score for the second time in the game, with Mohamed El Morabit scoring in the closing stages.

The second leg of the fixture will be held at the Berkane Municipal Stadium in two weeks’ time.
