NFF, Super Falcons Settle Owed Allowances, Bonuses Rift

The Nigeria Football Federation has reportedly resolved the issue of unpaid bonuses and allowances owed to the players of the Super Falcons.

While the Federation acknowledges that the away winning bonus for the game against Ivory Coast remains unpaid, they have settled all other outstanding debts owe the Super Falcons, with the exception of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup bonuses, which is yet to be paid by FIFA.

Prior to the settlement, each player was owed a minimum of $16,000 and N510,000 in accumulated allowances and bonuses since 2021.

The settled amounts include the bonuses for international friendly matches against USA, Austria, Japan, and Mexico, as well as the match bonus of N510,000 for the home win against Cote D’Ivoire in the African Nations Cup qualifier.

An anonymous official of the Federation confirmed that the NFF has addressed the backlog of unpaid bonuses and allowances for the Super Falcons players and officials.

The official revealed that almost all the debts have been settled, except for the away winning bonus against Ivory Coast, which is expected to be paid once additional funds are available.

The Super Falcons are scheduled to host São Tomé and Principe in Nigeria between the 18th and 22nd of this month for the African Women’s Nations Cup qualifier. The second leg takes place five or six days later.
