Wayne Rooney found his inner Maasai on Thursday as he rifled a shot from around 30 yards to relieve the memories of his time as a younger player in an Everton shirt.
It was the 31-year-old’s first goal for the Toffees since rejoining his boyhood club from Manchester United.

Rooney opted to return to Goodison Park ahead of the 2017/18 English Premier League season after 13 years at Old Trafford.
He walked right into Ronald Koeman’s first XI against Kenyan club, Gor Mahia in a pre-season game on Thursday.
Prior the match, Rooney and a couple of his Everton teammates had meet with Maasai warriors in Tanzania.
Morgan Schneiderlin, Kevin Mirallas and Jonjoe Kenny joined Rooney as they were “indoctrinated” with traditional Maasai robes.
Everton did go on to win 2-1 when Kieran Dowell smashed home from range after Jacques Tuyisenge had pulled the Kenyan team level only two minutes after Rooney’s goal.
