Victor Boniface has an impressive performance for Bayer Leverkusen, earning praise from manager Xabi Alonso.

Boniface has been heavily involved in Bayer Leverkusen’s fine start to the new campaign.

The 22-year-old scored a brace and assisted another goal as Leverkusen recorded a 5-1 win against Darmstadt on Saturday.

His brace at the weekend takes his tally to five goals in four matches across all competitions for the Xabi Alonso’s side.

Boniface who joined Leverkusen from Saint-Gilloise last month also has two assists to his name, and Alonso is pleased with his excellent start to life in the Bundesliga.

“Victor is not merely a proficient striker; he is a complete player,” the Bayer Leverkusen said.

“And you can see that he gets along very well with his teammates, both on and off the pitch.

Victor Boniface earned his first call up to the Nigeria MNT, and will be hoping to earn his first cap in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe next Sunday.
