Spain have won the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history following a 1-0 win over England in this Sunday.
It was a tense final with both sides playing to win the World Cup trophy for the first time in their history.
La Roja captain, Olga Carmona scored in the 29th minute for Spain, but England tried to find their way back into the game as they grew in confidence in the second half after a rather indifferent first-half performance.
England’s goalkeeper Mary Earps saved Jennifer Hermoso’s second half sport kick.
However, Spain managed to hold on to become only the fifth team to win the World Cup.
