FIFA has finally cleared KAA Gent defender, Jordan Torunarigha to play for Nigeria at senior level.
On Monday, Torunarigha finally completed the switch from Germany to Nigeria after all necessary, and documents have been signed.
The son of the former Super Eagles forward and ex-coach of Hertha BSC, Ojokojo Torunarigha, had previously featured for Germany’s youth sides.
The 26-year-old becomes the latest player to switch allegiance from Germany to Nigeria after Kevin Akpoguma.
“After a lot of consideration and good talks with the coach and all people in charge, I decided to play for the country for which my father already stood on the pitch, Nigeria,” The player posted on his social media account two months ago.
Apart from playing for Germany’s Olympic team in 2021, the former Hertha Berlin defender represented his nation of birth at all age levels.
