Super Falcons’ next Opponent Mauls China 6-1 to top Group D

Nigeria will face England for a place in the Quarter-finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, after the Lionesses finished top of Group D.

The Lioness, on Tuesday, mauled China 6-1 to top group D and will face Group B runners-up, the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

Lauren James scored a brace , while Alessia Russo and Chloe Kelly and Rachel Daly also found the net to give England an emphatic
victory.

“Another day that was what dreams are made of. I am happy for the team, everyone is buzzing. We look forward to the next round now.”

“I felt free tonight, whether I’m on the wing or in the middle I’m just happy to be on the pitch playing and enjoying my football.

“Each day, each game I am looking to improve and get better. There’s many more years of improvements and I can always get better,” James said.

England is one of the few teams with 100 percent record in the competition so far, meaning the Falcons are underdogs and will need a flawless performance to get needed result.

Nigeria last reach FIFA World Cup semi-final during 1999 edition held in United States of America.
