Ucheibe wants Improvement from Super Falcons

Christy Ucheibe is proud of the Super Falcons exploits at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons showed massive progression by qualifying for FIFA World Cup round of 16 after a win and two draws from three Group games.

Although not convincing against the Irish on Monday, the team managed to get the job done, earning a point that sealed their place in round of 16.

Ucheibe, however warned against complacency, insisting they must step up their performance.

“Well done team can’t be more proud of us, It’s time to step up and focus on the next task ahead of us,” She said after goalless draw against Ireland.

Randy Waldrum’s team finished their Group B campaign with five points, one point behind Asutralia, who thrashed Canada 4-0 in their last game.

Nigeria’s impressive campaign started with a goalless draw in their first game against Olympic champions, Canada, the Super Falcons then followed it up with a 3-2 comeback win over co-hosts Australia, before finishing the job with the draw against the Republic of Ireland.

The team will next face European Champions, England, in the round of 16.
