Two Formats Proposed for 2024 NPL Season

The newly inaugurated board for the Nigeria Premier League has proposed two league formats for the forthcoming domestic campaign.

On Sunday, the League Management Board (LMB) proposed an abridged format of two groups (A & B) with 10 teams each, and the other is a return to 20-team full Premier League season format.

Both formats are set to kick off on the August 26 and the 20 NPL clubs have been duly informed.

In the abridged format, the season is expected to run until the 14th of April 2024, while the full season will continue until the 9th of June 2024.

Despite mixed concerns from various quarters, it is certain that the 2023-24 league campaign will begin on the last weekend of August 2023.
