Onumunu Hungry for more after Impressive Women’s World Cup Debut

Super Falcons forward Ifeoma Onumonu is not resting on her oars following her eye-catching Women’s World Cup debut in the match against Canada.

Onumonu was one of the top performers as the Super Falcons held the reigning Olympic Champions in their Group B opener.

The 29 year-old gave the Opposition defenders a hard time, as they struggle to cope with her strength, movement and pace.

“I think, just trying to get more opportunities like that would be great for us. I’m trying to be efficient at the same time too,” Onumonu said told NFF TV.

“We watched the game back and I think that we saw that we had a little bit more space than we probably thought we did.

Meanwhile, the Forward is also looking forward to next game against Australia with optimism.

“I’m looking forward to the next game and starting to just play off each other some more.

“Hopefully in the next game (against Australia), we create more opportunities. I think we’re just getting out those first-game nerves.”
