Home Advantage Won’t Faze Me – Oshoala

Asisat Oshoala says Super Falcons will be ready for Australia when the teams clash in their second group match at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, this Thursday.

Over 75,000 spectators watched Australia beat Republic of Ireland 1-0, and more than fifty thousand fans are expected to be in the stadium for the game against Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, forward Asisat Oshoala said the Super Falcons will be ready for the challenge.

“When I step my foot on the pitch, I don’t really think about the crowd any longer,” the Barcelona Femeni player told BBC Sports.

“Some people say they get nervous when the crowd is too much, but for me, it is different.

“I’m just out there to do my job, I’m about my business. This is top-level football, and it demands self-reflection.

“Even if you win the game, you have to ask yourself questions like, ‘Ok, maybe I could be better with the pass’ or whatever.”

Thursday match will be played at the 52,000 capacity Lang Park, “Cauldron”, in Brisbane.
