Nnadozie One of the Best – Waldrum

Randy Waldrum expressed his admiration for Chiamaka Nnadozie’s goalkeeping skills and praised her for the outstanding performance in Nigeria’s World Cup group game against Canada.

Waldrum referred to his goalkeeper as one of the best in the world, and mentioned that her save against Canada ignited a spark in the Nigerian team, reminding them of their “determination to compete.”

Despite their lower ranking, Nigeria’s defensive strategy successfully limited Canada’s scoring opportunities including Nnadozie’s penalty save.

“I’m probably going to embarrass her, but I think she’s one of the best young goalkeepers in the world,” Waldrum said.

“I think Chiamaka’s save really lit the fire and made us realize there’s still something to play for.”

Nigeria is 33 places lower than Canada in the FIFA ranking, but they earned a valuable point from the game.

Next up for Nigeria is the game against early group leaders, Australia, on Thursday.
