The Athletics Federation of Nigeria technical director, Samuel Onikeku has declared the Federation’s support for the suspended, Tobi Amusan, after she was charged by the Athletics Integrity Unit for missing routine testing.
Amusan was reported to have missed testing three times in the last 12 months, a violation of the AIU protocol, and was thereby charged by the body.
In an interview on BRL, the AFN director, and former Nigerian international athlete, Sam Onikeku, expressed support for the World Champion and emphasized that the Nigerian track queen is a thorough professional.
“Tobi Amusan has been a very disciplined athlete; of the athletes that I’ve come across, and being an ex-international myself, I have not seen any that has been more disciplined or disciplined as her, so for this kind of news to come out is very unfortunate,” Onikeku said during the interview.
