Nigeria’s draw against Canada, a step in the right direction – Ajibade

Nigeria’s Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade has described the team’s opening draw at the ongoing FIFA women’s world cup as a step in the right direction after Nigeria rebuffed the pressure from Canada to earn a point in a tensed goalless encounter.

Falcons shot stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie denied Canada’s Christine Sinclair a chance to score from the penalty spot and Deborah Abiodun got sent off during added time to further heightened the team’s need to see off the game without conceding.
Ajibade speaking after the game in a chat captured by www.brila.net expressed that she was hoping to see the team win but then was happy to have also earned a point against the Olympics Football event Champions while stressing the need to ensure that the team gets better in subsequent games.
