Super Falcons Forward, Desire Oparanozie says the team will have to overcome the pressure of playing at a major tournament like the Women’s World Cup if they must succeed.

Oparanozie is one of 23 players selected by Coach, Randy Waldrum for the Super Falcons for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria is housed in group B alongside Australia, Canada and Republic of Ireland.

The Falcons, despite making a 9th appearance in the tournament, have never gone past the second round, and for that to change Oparanozie says unwavering focus from every team member on the pitch is crucial.

“Once we get on the field of play what should matter is football and nothing else,” the Forward told BRL.

“Keeping on minds focused on only the positives; no negatives, will help us achieve great things.”
