D’Tigers won their first game of the tournament at the ongoing FIBA AfroCan tournament against Mali.

A six points victory where D’Tigers won 62-56 against Mali and had to hold on tight as the game approached its embers following an onslaught from the opponent and it looked like they were about to stage an upset.

The win meant that Nigeria put a stop to a terrible streak that saw them lose three in a row at the tournament in 2019 where they lost to Kenya, DR Congo and Algeria.

Coach Ogoh Odaudu and the boys will now go into their next game against Angola, hoping to make the most of the confidence they would have gotten from the win even though the odds seem to favour the opponents.
