Former Nigerian left-back, Ifeanyi Udeze says PAOk Salonika still holds a special place in heart, years after leaving the club.

Udeze had two good spells with PAOK, making over a hundred appearances in his first stint between 2000 and 2006 before leaving for West Brom.

He later returned to the club twelve months later, but the relationship this time lasted for just a year as he retired from the game.

“I love the club, but I left the first time because of my contract. They owed me about four months salary and FIFA rules stated clearly that you can leave if you are being owed for that long.

“Imagine playing for a whole season without getting paid. It’s difficult, so only a player who loves the club can to that.

“However it was difficult not to return, especially if the fans want you back. They chant your name and sing all sort of songs.

“So when I went back the fans were happy to receive me and I was happy about that,” Says emotional Udeze.
