CB William Troost-Ekong is happy to be back in Super Eagles squad after missing the last international window.

Due to an injury after his transfer to Salernitana, Ekong could not be part of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations double header against Guinea-Bissau.

The 29 year-old spoke with Journalists in Lagos as the Super Eagles prepare for the AFCON qualifier against Seirra Leone. He described his excitment to be back and available against the Leone Stars.​

“It has been amazing. I missed out in March because of injury. I want to support the team and play my part. I have always wanted to come back,” Ekong said.

William Troost-Ekong is expected to return in a Centre back pairing with either Oluwasemilogo Ajayi or Calvin Bassey for Sunday’s cracker in Monrovia.

The Super Eagles need a point from the game to qualify for tournament which will be held in Ivory Coast next year.
