Bendel Insurance tasted defeat for first time this season, falling 2-1 to Rivers United in their Super 6 clash, on Friday.

Two late goals and in each half, from Morice Chukwu and Joseph Onoja did the damage against Insurance at the ongoing NPL Championship playoff.

Super Eagles new boy Divine Nwachukwu got a consolation goal for Monday Odigie’s side, but it wasn’t enough to preserve their 26-match unbeaten run in all competitions this season.

Despite the win, Rivers United remain second in the Super 6 standings, with 8 points.

Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance are without a win, and they have three points from four matches.
