Onwuzurike, Brume shine at NCCA Championship final

Udodi Onwuzurike shone like a million stars during the final of NCCA Championship final on Friday night.

The Nigerian wrote his name in history of the competition, becoming the third Nigerian to win men’s 200m title in Houston, Texas.

 

Onwuzurike ran a time of 19.84s to win the final and joined Olapade Adeniken (1992) and Divine Oduduru (2018 & 2019) as the only Nigerians with the title.

The sprinter saw off challenge from Courtney Lindsey ( 19.86s ) and Terrence Jones (19.87s) who themselves finished second and third respectively.

In another event, Godson Brume ran a personal best of 9.90s to finish second in the final of the 100m.

Courtney Linsdey ran 9.89s to win the race while Shaun Maswanganyi was third with return time of 9.91s.

With his current his personal Best (PB), Brume become the 3rd fastest Nigerian man ever as he finished 2nd in the men’s 100m final at the NCAA Championships.
