Current Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt are among the clubs monitoring the progress of Nigeria’s forward Gift Orban.
Frankfurt Chief Scout Corlineus Kruesser in the company of Frank Sebastian, the Club’s sporting director disclosed this in a chat with brila.net.
The Frankfurt Chiefs are in Nigeria to monitor a scouting program tagged Nigeria Bundelisga scouting competition that started on Monday, May 22, and will end on May 25, at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode.
Orban is one of the brightest stars in Europe this season and has attracted interest from several teams across Europe.
The 20-year-old has scored 20 goals in 20 games for his Belgian Jupiler League side Gent, despite arriving at the club in January.
“Gift Orban is doing very well, he’s an interesting striker”, Corlineus Kruesser told brila.net.
Asked if Frankfurt is interested in signing the player, Kruesser said.
“We are monitoring every player like other clubs, but I can’t say. We have Randal Kolo Muani, a good striker too. But you don’t know in football.” He told brila.net.
Orban has four and half years left on his contract at Gent, but it is understood his club values him at €40m.
