However, Flying Eagles striker, Emmanuel Umeh revealed to BRL that winning the first game was very satisfying, as it gave the team belief and optimism in the tournament.

He also revealed that the negative comments toward the team’s performance has not gone unnoticed, but the Players will respond on the pitch.

“It’s a good feeling and in the camp we’re filled with joy we are so happy going to the tournament and winning the first game, it give us the confidence to keep pushing and expecting more positive results in the coming games.

“For me I am seeing the comments as a motivation because we know what to expect from the game.

“It’s a tougher game, a tougher opponent a really good side and I think it has given us the confidence to work harder and go all in for the game because it’s a really different kind of game compared to the Dominican Republic.

“Watching them against Brazil we know what to expect because they are a really good side as we see this as extra motivation to prove people wrong and to make our country proud.”
