Awoniyi equals 28-year Club Record with Chelsea brace

Man of the moment Taiwo Awoniyi has entered into Nottingham Forest’s history book following his brace at Chelsea on Saturday.

Awoniyi scored a header in both halves to help the Steve Cooper’s men secured a hard fought 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

 

The brace came four days after scoring twice in the 4-3 home win over now relegated Southampton at the City Ground.

 

He has now become the second ever Nottingham Forest player to score consecutive Premier League braces, after Brian Roy scored three in a row in April 1995.

The former Union Berlin and Liverpool forward also has eight goals and one assists to his name this season.
