Burkina Faso’s head coach Brahima Traore says his aim is to lead his boys to the FIFA World Cup after booking their place in the quarter finals of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following a 2-1 win over Cameroon on Sunday.
Burkina Faso defeated Cameroon 2-1 on Sunday to set up quarterfinal clash with Nigeria’s Golden, with winners of the tie heading tothe World Cup.
Speaking after his their win over Cameroon, Traore said theirprimary target remains clinching a ticket to the FIFA World Cup, atthe expense Nigeria, who they face in the quarter finals nextThursday in Algiers.
“We had two objectives in this tournament; first to get to the semi-finals and then to fight for the title. We will prepare well for Nigeriato enable us get to the semis and earn the World Cup ticket,” notedthe tactician.
Burkina Faso now move from Annaba to Algiers, where they are scheduled to play the Golden Eaglets next Thursday.
