Nigerian international Alex Iwobi scored an important goal for Everton in a thrilling contest against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium City on Monday.

The Nigerian struck in the 52nd minutes to salvage a point for the Toffees against their relegation rivals who themselves paraded another Nigerian Wilfred Ndidi.

Iwobi forced Leicester’s goalkeeper Daniel Iversen into stunning reflex save to early in the first half to keep the scores level.

Everton finally drew the first blood when Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring with just 15 minutes into the game.

The England striker scored from the penalty spot after being bundled over by Timothy Castagne.

Leicester fought their way back and equalized seven minutes later through Caglar Soyuncu, who tap home from Wout Faes’ knockdown.

It became all Leicester City show from the there and they doubled their lead after 33 minutes.

Alex Iwobi gave the ball away in dangerous area and James Maddison picked out Jamie Vardy with a neat pass to make it 2-1.

Leicester City were awarded a penalty few minutes later, but Maddison failed to beat Jordan Pickford in Everton’s goal.

Iwobi, however, made amend for his error, as he netted the equalizer for the visitors in the second half.

Neither side were able to find a winner and the result leaves both in deep trouble at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
