Tomori relishes Champions League battle with Osimhen

AC Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori says he enjoyed every battle with Victor Osimhen, but regrets watching the striker getting a goal on Tuesday.

Tomori and Osimhen rekindled their rivalry in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final, second leg clash at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Osimhen missed the first leg, but did recover in time to be available for the return leg.

Tomori and his teammates went ahead in the tie, thanks to Olivier Giroud, before Osimhen equalized late on in the game.

Stefano Pioli’s side however qualified for the semi-final after winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate.

“Obviously, Victor is having a great season and I know how dangerous he is. I just tried to make sure I got my body in between him and the ball at all times as much as possible.

“I was disappointed he managed to score at the end. I just tried to get to him as tight as possible and try not to give him a lot of space,” Tomori told reporters.

Osimhen ended this season’s Champions League campaign with five goals from six matches.
