Cyriel Dessers is full of admiration for his former club, Feyenoord following the Club’s impressive form this season.
Dessers was on loan at Feyenoord last season, and became an integral part of the team, helping Arne Slot’s side to UEFA Europa Conference League final and winning the the competition’s top scorer award.
He later returned to his then parent club KRC Genk from where he joined Cremonese in Italy.
While the Forward’s new team is languishing at the bottom of Italian Serie A, Feyenoord are on the verge of winning the Eredivisie title, and are also through to Europa League last eight.
Speaking on his time with the club, Dessers reveals he still loves the club and follows their performance.
“I am surprised how well they are doing this season, because so many guys have left in the summer and so many new guys have come.
“But on the other hand I also know that there is a very strong base stands at Feyenoord with the technical staff and guys who have been there for a while,” The four-time capped Nigerian international to Voetbal International .
Things have not gone as planned for Dessers since joining Cremonese with the netting just four goals in 22 games.
The future of the striker also remains uncertain at Cremonese and he has been linked with a potential return to Feyenoord.
