Alex Iwobi says he is happy to help Super Eagles return to winning ways in their CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.
Iwobi was in action as Moses Simon struck for Nigeria in the 1-0 triumph over Guinea Bissau on Monday.
The Everton midfielder also said:
“It was a very difficult game from home. Guinea Bissau wanted to defend what they had but we’re able to get one goal that we needed.
“They came out and tried to attack us, but were resilient and kept a clean sheet.
It marked Nigeria’s third win in the qualifying series, and revenge for the team, following last Friday’s defeat.
“Honestly football can change anytime, so we couldn’t be complacent because we saw the threat they have up front.”
“I won’t say it was 100 percent in the bag, but I trusted my teammates to continue putting in good work and were,” He concluded.
