Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has dismissed speculations that Wilfred Ndidi is injured.
Peseiro explained why Ndidi was left out of Monday’s training session at the MKO Abiola Stadium, dispelling concerns the Midfielder could miss Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations first-leg qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
This season, the 26 year-old has endured a difficult campaign, no thanks to his reoccurring injury.
Speaking with journalists after the team’s training on Monday in Abuja, the Portuguese coach said Ndidi will train with the team on Tuesday, after being left out of Monday’s training.
“It’s nothing serious,” Peseiro remarked. “It was best for him to rest and recover well.
“He will join the training tomorrow (Tuesday). We are in contact with the team’s medics and we have a good relationship with them,” He said.
