D’Tigers of Nigeria maintained their place on African ranking, despite missing out on FIBA World Cup qualification.

The Nigeria Men’s Basketball team was also among the best 20 teams in the World, the are ranked 19th with 461.4 points, according to the latest FIBA rankings.

D’Tigers won’t be at this year’s FIBA World Cup after missing out of qualifying owing to the team’s poor start in the series.

However, the team’s strong finish in Luanda, was not enough despite defeating Guinea and Ivory Coast. They later lost the final game to Angola, to lost the qualifying position to Cape Verde.

Meanwhile, Tunisia are ranked as the second best team on the continent, just ahead of Senegal who themselves are ranked third in Africa.

Angola are the fourth and Ivory Coast occupy the fifth position in Africa.
