Super Eagles defender, Kevin Akpoguma featured in Hoffenheim’s Bundesliga match against Mainz 05 this Saturday.

Akpoguma started the clash and it was his 19th league appearances of the season.

Despite his impressive contribution, the RB couldn’t prevent his team from going down 1-0 to in form Mainz.

Leandro Martins’ strike in the 33rd minute condemned Hoffenheim to their 14th defeat of the campaign.

Akpoguma was subbed off in the 69th minute as coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, brought on forward Robert Skov in his place.

Following the defeat, Hoffenheim dropped into the relegation zone, sitting 16th on the table with 19 points.
