Bendel Insurance coach, Monday Odigie says his team is struggling with fatigue, despite extending their unbeaten run in the league.

Insurance were far from their usual best against Nasarawa United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Wednesday, but still managed to grind out a 1-0 win.

The hosts got the decider seven minutes after the restart, courtesy of Ebuka Akobundu, who fired home from an acute angle after the Nasarawa United defence failed to deal with a ball in their territory.

“I’m thankful to God despite playing two difficult games in the space of four days,” the club’s Coach said. “It’s a difficult game for us as we struggled from the beginning to the end – fatigue emanating from long journeys and congested fixtures are affecting the teams.

“I do hope that those who run the league will consider the plights of the players.

“Nasarawa United are a tough side. They finished among the top six last season, and we thank God that the only chance we got, we converted.”

Bendel Insurance are now unbeaten in eight league games, winning six and drawn two of their eight games.

They sit on top of Group A with 20 points, four points better than Enyimba, who are in second position.
