Paul Onuachu has finally completed his dream transfer from Genk to Southampton in the English Premier League.
The Saints met Genk’s £18m asking price for the Nigerian forward who has his medical in Nantes on Tuesday.
Onuachu enjoyed a successful spell at Genk, scoring 84 goals in 134 official matches for the team.
He currently has 16 goals in 14 starts for the Limburgers this season.
“I want to thank everyone who has helped me grow here. The different coaches, the technical staff and of course the supporters. I wish the club the best for the future,
“It is my greatest wish that they can take the title. Genk will always be my home, wherever I go”, said an emotional Onuachu after the deal was completed.
He leaves the club as a legend, haven won a cup, the Golden and Ebony Shoe and the title of top scorer .
The club is looking for a moment to give him a proper farewell in the presence of all supporters in the Cegeka Arena.
