Ademola Lookman got a brace as Atalanta thrashed Spezia 5-2 in the Coppa Italia at the Bergamo on Thursday.

Lookman, 26, has been on a different level this season, scoring and creating goals for Atalanta regularly.

In the Serie A, he has nine goals and three assists in seventeen games. Only his compatriot Victor Osimhen has more goals than him in the league.

He made his Coppa Italia debut for Atalanta on Thursday, and it took him just 12 minutes to register a brace.

The winger has now scored on his Premier League debut, Bundesliga debut, Serie A debut, FA Cup debut and now Coppa Italia debut.

He scored the first goal of the game as early as the 10th minute from Giorgio Scaloni’s pass. He then doubled his team’s lead just two minutes later.

Spezia pulled one back just 2 minutes later through Albin Ekdal, before Hans Hateboer, restored Atalanta’s two-goal lead.

Daniele Verde reduced the deficit again for Spezia in the 38th minute. Rasmus Højlund later made it 4-2 and a late own goal from Ethan Ampadu sealed a 5-2 win for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

 

Atalanta now through to the quarter-final of the tournament and will face Inter Milan.
