Commonwealth gold medalist Tobi Amusan has been named by The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) as the best female Athlete in Africa for 2022.
Amusan has had a splendid career in Athletics this year. She broke and set the world record in Oregon, winning the Commonwealth games in Birmingham with a record 12.12 seconds in the 100 meters hurdles event.
She also boasts of back-to-back Commonwealth and African titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100m hurdles and she is also a two-time African Games champion in the event.
Recently, the 25 year-old was named the fifth best female athlete in 2022 by World Athletics and she is now ranked number 1 in Africa ahead of Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon and Ethiopia’s Letesenbet Gidey, who are both world champions in the 1500m and 1000m events.
