Former Super Eagles Goalie proud of Morocco despite defeat to France

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph is proud of Morocco’s exploit at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco stunned the world by reaching the last four, before losing to holders France 2-0 at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday.

Before the defeat, the Atlas Lions had beaten Canada, Belgium, Spain, Portugal without conceding a goal.

It was a feat that got the entire continent dreaming, before the good run ended against France.

Dosu praised Walid Regragui’s side for setting an African World Cup record.

“That is football, it’s either you win or lose, and all hope is not lost. Africa still has the hope of winning a bronze medal against Croatia in their third-place match,” Joseph Dosu told the Punch.

“Even if Morocco comes fourth, that means they are the fourth best football country in the world. They have done so well for themselves, and the players will be heroes when they return to their country.”

On Saturday, the Africans will face 2018 runner-up, Croatia in the third place playoff match, on Saturday.
