Super Eagles forward, Cyriel Dessers has been on a scoring spree since the beginning of the season.
The Nigerian striker made it five goals and an assist in just six games across all competitions after scoring a brace in Rangers 6-0 against Ross Country.
The consistency with which he finds the net speaks volumes about his quality.
Dessers, 29, has carried over his remarkable form from last season, where he scored 22 goals and provided nine assists, helping Rangers secure a second-place finish in the league.
With his current momentum, Dessers is well on his way to surpassing last season’s impressive tally.
Clement Determined to Keep Dessers at Rangers
With Dessers’ explosive form, Rangers’ manager Philippe Clement is now keen to keep the striker at Ibrox.
The Nigerian has been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia, France, and Italy, but has reportedly turned down an offer from Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United.
Despite ongoing speculation, there are still talks that Dessers could leave the Gers before the current transfer window closes.
“We have talked to the board about whether we will let him go if a bid comes.
“But we can only let a player leave if for that amount, we can get a better player in that position and one in another position. Otherwise you work backwards and that is not the idea,” Clement said after the game against Ross County.
“So clearly, there wasn’t a bid that was enough to let Dessers go. He is also someone that loves Rangers. He loves the shirt and he wants to die for the shirt.”
