Shooting Stars secured a historic away victory against Kano Pillars, breaking a 14-year dry spell with a thrilling 2-1 win.

3SC’s Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, acknowledged the side’s sluggish start but commended their resilience that ultimately led to victory.

“We just tried to manage the game in the first 45 minutes, and in the second half, I think the boys were able to exhibit what they should have done in the first half,” expressed Ogunbote during a post-match presser.

Looking ahead to their next match against second-placed Lobi Stars, Ogunbote dismissed the coach’s boasts as mere mind games.

“Well, football is a mind game, football is played on the field, not on print,” he remarked.

“He has the reasons to blow hot, if you look at his position on the table, so if you were in his shoes,won’t you do such a thing?”

Shooting Stars have now completed a double over Kano Pillars for the first time and they have lost just once in their eight matches.
