Head coach of Ghana’s Black Galaxies, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has announced a 32-man squad for a pre-CHAN qualifiers training camp ahead of their 2025 African Nations Championship qualifiers against Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles.
The Ghana Football Association, GFA made the announcement on its official website earlier today, signaling the start of preparations for the crucial encounter.
The training camp is set to commence on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The squad will undergo intensive drills, including tactical sessions, fitness programs, and training matches, as they prepare for the two-legged showdown against their West African rivals.
After an initial two-week session ending on December 5, the camp will be temporarily suspended to accommodate Ghana’s national elections.
The players are expected to return to camp on December 8 to continue preparations.
Nigeria Yet to Announce Squad
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s head coach Augustine Eguavoen has yet to release the squad list for the clash. However, reports suggest that the announcement is expected by the end of the week.
The upcoming qualifiers mark another chapter in the storied rivalry between the two nations. The last time both sides met in a CHAN qualifier was in 2022, where Ghana edged Nigeria on penalties to secure qualification.
Ghana will host the first leg of the qualifiers on Saturday, December 21, 2024, with the return leg scheduled between December 27-29, 2024.
The winner of the two-legged tie will earn a spot in the 2025 CHAN tournament, set to take place across Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
