Nigeria was held to a 0-0 draw by Rwanda in their second group match of the ongoing 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Despite dominating much of the game, Nigeria was repeatedly thwarted by Rwanda’s outstanding goalkeeper, Fiacre Ntwari, whose heroics kept the Super Eagles at bay.
In the first half, what appeared a clear goal was chalked off by the Referee much to the relief of the capacity crowd at the Amahoro Stadium.
Piling on the pressure thiugh, Victor Boniface also came close to breaking the deadlock, hitting the woodwork in the dying moments of the first half.
After the interval, Nigeria increased their intensity, but Ntwari continued to frustrate the waves of attack.
The Rwandan shot stopper made crucial saves to deny Victor Osimhen twice and Ademola Lookman from close range.
With the draw, Super Eagles remain top of the group with four points, while Rwanda sits on two.
Libya and Benin Republic, the other teams in the group, are set to play later tonight.
