Super Eagles Captain, William Troost-Ekong believes the team’s performance against Rwanda in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match was good.
The Super Eagles, were forced to a goalless draw by Rwanda in the second Group D game on Tuesday.
The CB praised the team’s effort, saying he’s proud of their resilience.
“I’m proud of the team,” he stated.
“We created a lot of chances and could have scored multiple goals. Despite the difficult conditions, I believe we performed well and earned a positive result.”
“The home crowd made the game more vibrant, and we used their energy as motivation,” he said.
“Rwanda had a great game plan, but we could have won the game on another day.”
With four points from their first two matches, the Super Eagles are on track in their qualifying campaign.
“We have two positive results so far, and we aim to secure a strong performance in the next games against Libya.”
The Super Eagles will now take on Libya in October.
