Team Nigeria’s Eniola Bolaji will fight for a bronze medal after falling short in the semi-finals of the women’s singles SL3 category in para-badminton at the ongoing Paris Paralympic Games.

Bolaji was defeated by China’s Zuxian Xiao in straight sets, 2-0 (16-21, 17-21), missing out on the opportunity to compete for the gold medal.

Bolaji is set to return to the court on Monday, where she will face Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna in the bronze medal match.

In other events, Nigeria’s Faith Obazuaye faced a tough challenge in the women’s singles para-table tennis Class 10 round of 16, losing in straight sets to Chinese Taipei’s Wen Shiau Tian.

Tian secured her place in the quarterfinals with a 3-0 (11-4, 11-8, 11-3) victory.

Meanwhile, in the men’s singles Class 10, Olufemi Alabi was defeated by China’s Hao Lian, also in straight sets, with a score of 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-7).

Victor Farinloye also exited the competition after a loss to Croatia’s Borna Zohil, who won the match 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-7).
