2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup: Nigeria loses to Mexico

Nigeria lost 1-0 to Mexico in their tune up game on Monday evening, in Bogota.

The match was Nigeria’s final test before their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup kicks off, on Saturday.

Mexico scored the only goal of the match in the 20th minute, but had to withstand several waves of attack from the Christopher Danjuma-led side at the Club Banco de la República.

Nigeria will take on the Korea Republic in their first match of the World Cup finals at the 10,000 -capacity Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogota on September 2.

The same venue will host Nigeria’s second group game against three-time champions Germany, two days later.

In their final match of the group phase against Venezuela, the team moves to the Estadio Pascual Guerrero in Cali on September 7.
